Alec began covering the British music scene as a professional photographer in 1967 at the age of 17. After a mad decade in the rock and roll world of Swinging ‘60s London, he left the UK and his archive went into storage for close to four decades. His work was reintroduced to the world in 2012 with a now-legendary, one-night-only exhibition in Los Angeles attended by over 1,000 people. Alec’s first book, LONDON ROCK: The Unseen Archive, was published by Insight Editions in 2017, and his rediscovered photographs have since been featured in numerous magazine pieces, film, TV and book projects, reissues and box sets. A selection of his images has been added to the permanent collection of the National Portrait Gallery in London, and his signed, limited edition, silver gelatin prints are now highly sought-after by collectors.
